On behalf of Sigma Phi Zeta chapter (Waukegan, IL) of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., I would like to welcome you to our virtual home! 

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was established "on the simple belief that sorority elitism and socializing should not overshadow the real mission for progressive organizations - to address societal mores, ills, prejudices, poverty, and health concerns of the day." Founded upon the principles of Finer Womanhood, Scholarship, Service and Sisterhood, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Sigma Phi Zeta chapter seeks to improve the plight of our communities through our service efforts, model the behavior of finer women, demonstrate respect and love to all people and support the educational endeavors of young women within our community.

Locally, we have embarked upon a journey to be “the premier service organization on the North Shore”.  So how do we define premier?  For us, premier is defined not by how many members we have but how many lives are touched by the members we DO have. Premier is defined not by how large OUR bank account is but how we enlarge the emotional bank accounts of OTHERS.  Premier is not a state of being; it is a state of doing!
