Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. - Nu Lambda Sigma Chapter
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was founded on the campus of Howard university on January 9, 1914 by Honorable Brothers A. Langston Taylor, Leonard F. Morse and Charles I. Brown.
It was through the fervent vision of Sigma Brothers Charles R. Taylor and A. Langston Taylor, along with Arizona Cleaver that Zeta Phi Beta Sorority was born. For almost a century, these two organizations have served and flourished from a sibling-hood that is literally unlike any other found in black greek-letter organizations.

Nu Lambda Sigma Chapter was chartered on February 26, 2005 in Lake County Illinois. The chapter is chartered in the Great Lakes Region. Chapter founders (as names appear on the Charter) are Bro. Edward Morefield (1st chapter President), Bro. Mark Jones, Bro. William Covington, Bro. Monte McDowell, Bro. Jamal Nelson, Bro. J.C. Gardner, Bro. Floyd Palmer, Bro. Nathalaan Jones, and Bro. Mark Bell. Bro. James Stephens was the Regional Director, and Bro. Arthur Thomas, was International President.

This dynamic group of professional men work to expound upon the goals and mission of the national organization through brotherhood, service, and scholarship. With a gentle but relentless support for one another, a passion for our like-minded ideals, and respect for our shared histories, we work together to serve the North Shore.
